Growth

As I look back on a time,

before I even knew how to rhyme;

I was greedy, selfish, and controlling.

But now I'm caring, loving, and growing.

When looking back on the past,

many overlook it much too fast.

Reflection is a good way to learn,

but regret is a bad way to burn.

You can't change the mistakes you've made,

but hiding behind them is a poor masquerade.

Don't look at just the past or present look at both,

for a future that reflects nothing but growth.
