Growth
Every day there's a war on
It's a war inside the chest of
Man, woman, and those in-between
Every moment, every action
Each breath and step
A shot fired
A blade pulled
A cannon loaded
The hearts of man are battlefields
We struggle for purchase in this grey world
Hoping, praying, that what we do next
In the moment
In each moment of eternity and entropy
That what we do is right
That it will redeem us or secure us
In ultimate happiness
Growth, for me, was once a goal-driven thing
I thought I would one day be grown
Grown, and never anxious
Grown, and always satisfied
Grown, and fulfilled for the long time
For Always
But I really grew
When I learned that growth
Is never-ending
That the only thing that’s for always
Is the Growing
