Growth

A flower requires both

Rain and shine to grow

Strong and tall.

Despite the heavy rain,

When the sun shines,

The flower will exhibit

Brightness,

Exuberance,

And beauty.

I, too,

Will thrive 

In the sunshine

After a storm.

I will project brightness,

Exuberance,

And beauty.

Growth cannot be had

Without struggle,

For it is the rain that ensures

I am ready to bloom 

When the sun shines.
