Growth

I'm trying to grow into a new me

The day we'd end I thought I'd never see

But silly tried to make it work when clearly we're through

Because I knew in the end I'd wind up missing you

But still I yearn to grow

So I try to address you with pure maturity but your appreciation doesn't show

Why does it have to be ALL or NOTHING

I know our relationship is gone, but that doesn't explain why our friendship is dying

With everyday that we grow apart

It's another jab to my caring heart

But still I try to grow

Now all contact is lost and gone

Now loneliness has found a permanent home

Is this really progress shown ?

Or is the growth in
admitting I was wrong ?
