Being in love isn't about the other filling some lonely void

It's about the other making us face that loneliness that we try to avoid

It's about you fixing the pieces of me, that were destroyed

Love can be phenomenal, shocking, adventurous, but most of all love can fail

Love is about the other realizing this, realizing love can fail

yet you don't bail because you want to know me

There is something about my story, my eyes that you can see

you don't stay because I kiss well, you stay because you know I will impact your life

you know that you will remember me, you don't know that i'll be your wife

you know that I will change you for the better, you don't know that ill be your forever

love is about contributing to one's story, we fight, we bicker, we are confused as to

why we are with each other. Will you remember my eyes? will you remember my

goals that I explained to you? will you remember how my skin turns Dewey in may?

can you write about me one day? if yes, then this is why you stay.

I don't stay with you because of the cute little things you say and do

I stay with you because I love you, I can say you were a person I knew

a person whos flaws I learned and whos trust and openness I earned.

that's what love is, I know we will fail, I know you might not be by my side

forever, but you do have a purpose in my life however

we didn't meet by coincidence, you are here to give me experience

and because I love you, my experiences with you will help guide me

No matter what places I travel to see, no matter who my next lover may be

love is here to teach, love Is here to be apart of my story.
