Freshman Year:

Everyday

Sad as can be

I sit alone

In the corner

Not knowing

anyone

The class starts

I stand closed off

And so does

The boy next to me

Nervously

Looking at our feet

Start moving

And stand open

To the audience

Sophomore Year:

Still by myself

In this class

How sad

I look up

A girl

Bright as can be

Takes my hand

“Hi, I’m Gabby”

I smile

For the first time

In a long time

Open up

Get a scene

Dig deep

Into your emotions

I scream.

Junior Year:

I sit in my seat

I made a friend

She is nice

She is kind

And she is

motivated

You can do it

She says

Try out for the team

I do

More friends in a stead

Lets make a prop

Says the boy

Who nervously

Looked at his feet

But now looks

Deep into the soul

Three months

Of hard work

Competition is in the air

Waiting for

Judgement Day

Second place

Celebration.

Senior Year:

Last year

I think

Go big

Or go home

Class starts

But it’s different from before

New people

Just like me

In my first year

Nervous

We lead them

To the stage

To home

Then

A bright light shines

Down on our faces

A calling

To those of us

Alone and fearful

No longer scared

The light surrounds

And embraces

The final bow

The final show

Goodbye theatre

We loved you so
