Growth: A Root into Success

Growth, I suppose one can say it happens everyday;

one strives for so much more

and at times even so feels as if they're sinking 

when one is only pushing and thinking.

Growth, I've been taught in my times

where I shed enough tears that within time counts every single 

fear that is spilling into a sea of thoughts...

with my head in the clouds and heart pounding like the loudest drum ever,

ever so loudly but I am scared..

for the unexpected

but yet it's something I want, something I want to grow from.

I hope for growth. But indeed every root needs water and sun to blossom;

the light of knowledge and patience is what you have given me,

telling and allowing for me to risk it all with no strings attached.

to expect the unexpected and grow from it,

to ignore different modes, along with computer codes 

that only soon confuse the balance I want to find..

and to you I owe you so much more,

I want to be seen in my work, and to show my balance

to hear my crazy, loud thoughts and actions

so loud that a lion could never compare.

Growth, will it ever end?

I hope not, since you have taught me to strive for more

to be hungry for knowledge, self care and happiness.

I stood infront of you as a root, 

shyly looking in confusion for what could help me.

now I am as tall a redwood tree,

the sun shines on me, and I only want to find more light

the light that makes me grow,

and because of you, I expect the unexpected

and grow from it.

Thank you Mr. Fisher for an amazing 4 years in high school and letting

me be apart of a genuine engineering program that lets us think and build

our wildest creations and be proud of our work and involvement throughout

the Westside Long Beach community.
