Guardian Angel
The man clad in black convinces me to follow
I keep my distance
But I can’t turn back
He leads me to his home
I’m a prisoner in his best room
I stay alone in silence
I can only wait for the worst
One day he’s there before my eyes
He insists on something I cannot say
All I do is deny
There is nothing I can do but retreat into my mind
But I feel nothing
I see the light, such warmth
There in the door stands a man
He glows like the golden sun
My eyes lock his
He moves in slow motion
A stranger
And yet I feel no fear
A loud yell emerges from my captor
The stranger grows near
“It’s impossible for you to be here.
She doesn’t want you anymore.”
Anymore
I must know him
Memories flood back
I need to go with him
Him, or no one else.
His face close to mine
His eyes ask a million questions
But one above all else
Go with me?
Tears in my eyes
I nod yes
For an angel is before me
And I love him more than life
The golden light engulfs me
I’m lifted from my darkened state
I’m warm and free
As his arms carry me back from hell
