Guardian Angel
You were with me on that horrid day,
Every single step of the way.
When the brightest day,
Turned to the darkest gray.
And that awful beast arose against me,
Casting me asunder.
I got lost in the sounds of thunder,
Making me wonder,
What the next moments would bring.
I felt you by my side.
My unseen shield of protection.
You absorbed the blunt of the blow,
Keeping me safe from the force of his plow.
I drew my strength from you,
To know just what to do.
You helped me rise up from the ashes,
To defeat all of his bashes.
Now I see the beauty in the pain,
The vibrant colors of your promise just after the rain.
