THE GUESTS OF EARTH

Earth was here
when the time began
and when life emerged
from the depths of eternity.

And into that eternity
it will go on,
round and round,
dancing, and
drawing the circles of life.

But here is the truth:
You and I (and everybody else)
are here on this planet
only for a vacation
between the mysterious
before-and-after-ness
of life.

Hence, let us all
be the good guests
of Earth, this home,
and not
be the burglars
of beauty
and elegance which
this mighty Mother
owns as her spirit.
