A Guide For The Ghosts

I want to talk about the ghosts.

Not metaphorically or in a poetically beautiful kind of way.

I want to talk about the ghosts.

The people who couldn’t learn how to stay.

I’ll call it "the art of leaving",

because it’s something to master in a way.

So here is a guide:

“How to become a ghost in a day”

Step one.

Decide what you’re running from.

This is very important,

for in order to leave.

You must identify the one who will grieve.

They’ll be in great pain, which brings us to

Step two.

Learn how to care about no one but you.

Because you’ll haunt them for days,

for weeks,

and for years.

You just became a ghost, and their biggest fear.

Now here’s where the art comes into play,

learn how to stay gone.

Because the worst kinds of ghosts are the ones that can’t stay away.

And naturally there will come a day,

when you miss your old skin,

and realise your haunting isn’t touching her as much as him.

But never fear!

Step four will bring the cure!

The day you won’t feel a thing will shortly be here!

Because those who are left, their job is to feel pain,

but you are a ghost now,

your job is to restrain.

Oh! That brings us to step five!

You have a very important thing to decide!
Would you like to be a good ghost or a bad ghost?

Because we both know that’s what matters the most.

Let’s say you chose choice A.

Way to remember you loved them one day.

Now your job is simple,

go far, far away,

to one of those lands where the princesses stay.

And manifest yourself into the prince that saves the day.

Now say you didn’t chose choice A.

You were never a fan of casper anyway.

Then live in her head,

camp out under her bed,

and make sure she can never think that you’re dead.

Make things disappear.

Like her ability to be called dear,

and the days when the misery wasn’t always near.

And stack her furniture in a tower in her room,

one she’ll have to explain if she ever finds someone new.

Your job is simple really,

because bad ghosts, they never die.

Your job,

is to be an everlasting goodbye.

So when you make your choice,

I hope you make it wise.

Because there’s no home for the ghosts.

just a movie franchise.

Which brings us to the end of our lovely guide.

That will be $17.95.
