The Guiding Hand

As the footsteps died away, I stood there.

Waves of confusion began crashing in my mind, flooding all of my being.

In an instant, the hole in my chest was filled with a weight that forced me to sink.

Vulnerable.

Defenseless.

Alone.

Until,

The sound of new footsteps approached at a slow, steady pace.

As they grow closer,

that weight in my chest is lifted.

An unknown hand reaches out,

pulling me up from the place I had fallen.

We walk together as I am lead down a new path.

A path that I am meant to venture on.

Hope.

Joy.

Love.

I have been found.
