Guilt
I never meant to...
What good are excuses now?
Shame manifest
In the red of my cheeks
In my clenched and clammy fists
Trapped in the land of if only
No good wishing for the past
Mind locked on that moment
When everything changed
I never meant to...
But what good are excuses now?
Deep internal burning
Anger and disgust
For ruining everything
Oh what could have been
If only
Please, God let me start over
This guilt is far too great
It's so hard to believe
In forgiveness
When I can't look myself in the face
