Guitar Renew

Dust filled and broken
I accepted
all sunken
strings hanging
chiming against one another
buttons slippery
and worn
I did repair it and played it
Oh the sound it made
tickled my spirits
and made me smile
spirits full of soul
marching to the golden door
whispering words of passion
right there
with fingers moving across the strings
my soul on fire
I bellowed
oh you beautiful broken guitar
no more
the magical fingers
raced ahead
to fame and joy
I sat in a daze
almost like in a blaze
of fire
ripping through my essence
with a strike of lightening
racing though my soul
Oh, that old broken guitar
no more
fresh and shiny
with the fragrance
of new stain
