The Gun
Being loved
Is all we strive to be
To be trusted
Spoken to with honesty
To be supported
And treated with equality
To be respected
For simply being me
Being in love
was like batheing in the sun
Or staring at the oceans
Overwheled with passion
And full of emotions
I felt alive
I was wanted and chosen
Because He Loves Me
I am frozen
He is jealous and protective
He does not want me to be free
He has a power over me
Because he puts the gun against my head
Because he loves me
This control and manipulation is a death threat
This lack of privacy
And being treated as property
Is causing me to worry
And defend myself constantly
What I Thought Was Love
Has become pain
I am drowning
in an endless sea of fear
I am choking on submission
And gasping for recognition
I am dying
Because he loves me
