GUNS

GUNS

I am at the mall shopping with my best friend laughing and dreaming

of how I will look in my new outfit.

I don’t understand.

Why is everyone screaming? Chaos.

I am not laughing any more.

I am scared.

Someone had a gun?  At the mall?

I turn on the TV and hear about a shooting on a college campus.

I don’t understand.

I want to go to college and plan for my future.

I am scared.

Someone had a gun?  At a college?

I hear there was a shooting at an elementary school.

I don’t understand.

Why would someone hurt little children?

Maybe I won’t become a teacher now.

I am scared.

Someone had a gun?  At an elementary school?

Guns in our safe places?

I don’t understand.

How can we keep guns safe?

I am scared.
