GUNS < POWER
Guns < Power
Deonna E Chatham: Levitical Lioness
April 20, 2023
So you purchased something with a little bit of weight
That can leave more than just a sting running through the lives in your community
The effects of bloodshed are irreversible
You can't turn back the hands of time
After you release bullets to say what you couldn't articulate in a manner that didn't involve utter destruction
You were calculated and cold
And the label of "monster" will outweigh everything that you wanted to draw attention to
You wanted to belong
To be accepted
To be loved
To be apart of the crew
The family
But at what cost?
Is trading a life for street credibility worth more than living???
Is violence the immortal tagging on the wall that you want to leave as an unforgettable impression
Did violence make you hard?
Because you pulled a trigger on unsuspecting individuals
What if it was your family and friends in the crowd with bullets flowing like running water?
Would the bullets mean something if it was your own world that you were erasing?
How does a gun motivated by hate solve problems???
How does hate or violence affect the community honestly?
Do you want to live with the aftermath of the lives that you destroyed?
Because lives will be permanently altered and changed
No alternate reality can reset the thief behind the bullets
You released death to ride early without a clear purpose
You released death to collect lives before their time
They didn't have the opportunity to live fully
Because you let guns be the end all
When humanity just desires to live stronger
But we can't look forward to the future
If the future is in pine boxes six feet deep in the earth
Instead of being accepted hate will rage on
Because hearts will be frozen without reasoning
You can't justify saying goodbye to life too soon
It's no eloquent words that will elaborately convey life after death
Life after senseless violence
Life at bullets
A human life isn't a hunting ground
But we release bullets to hunt down the living
And the worst part about everything is no form of vengeance is enough to justify the crime
Gun violence is not mental illness
Gun violence is a premeditated and planned event to destroy humanity
Gun violence is the elephant in the room that we would rather not address because of Gun manufacturers, Gun laws, and power
Stopping Gun violence is not killing the selling of guns or gun rights
Restrictions and stiffer punishment on Gun crimes save lives.
How many must we lay to rest in peace
Before we realize that peace is more powerful than Gun Violence and raging bullets
