(poems go here) The Gunslinger
With his guns by his side
He walks alone.
Wandering through the dreadful heat.
Leaving footprints in the sand.

He does not look back.
He doesn’t want to see the
Destruction he has left behind.
He keeps a memory of it though.
A reminder of what he’s done.

He keeps walking by day.
Makes camp by night.
Meets a little boy who travels
With him. But yet,
He’s still alone.

They climb mountains and
Walk through caves
For what feels like an
Eternity.

He reaches the cave’s end
But cannot take the boy
With him. The boy falls to his
Death. And the Gunslinger
Is again
Alone.

On the other side of the cave,
The Man in Black.
They sit and talk.
Talk about the Gunslinger’s future.

Days go by. And apparently
Years do too. He leaves
The mountains and heads
West towards the sea.

He walks alone with his
Guns at his side.
Moving forward
As the hawk flies ahead.

I wrote this as a writing assignment my junior year of high school. I think it is pretty good.
