TO THE GUY ON MY BIRTH CERTIFICATE
When you stand there in your best outfit,
and make a lifetime commit remember what you swore,
for better or worst you'd said you would always be there,
three children later and where are you?
I'm number three,
the kid you weren't even expecting,
you parted ways,
you missed out on birthdays and school plays,
what about the first day of school,
what about meeting my friends,
it took so long but I finally found you,
you said you couldn't come to my graduation,
instead of being there for your daughter's big day,
you were going to visit your girlfriend in the philipines,
Wow,how are you any lady's dream,
are you going to get her pregnant and leave her too,
It took me so long to realise,
it took me so long to see,
you weren't there when I was starving,
you weren't there when I was crying,
so why did I expect you to change,
Why did I dig up a can of worms,
why did I think a family reunion would be great,
God is the only father I will ever need
