Guys vs Girl

I write about boys, long stories truncated tessalated together about just the bad or good bits. I write about how I got hurt sometimes, I write it down so that it mattered a little bit to me, so that when I couldn't tell anybody else I could at least tell the blinking cursor on my screen. I write so I remember the particular width of somebody's fingers, or so I can match the concave teeth in his smile to the wrinkles around his bluegreen eyes, so that I don't get it mixed up with her smile, or the profile of her nose when I look over at her. Guys have bear paws, and she plays ukelele with her angel-fingers. I write so that I can take a moment to appreciate and separate and find the right metaphor for her laugh.
