Had I Never Seen You

Had I never seen you, my life would be so different

I wouldn’t fear to be myself
I wouldn’t have to shut them out
I wouldn’t lock myself away
I wouldn’t worry what to say
I wouldn’t cry myself to sleep
Without you there to see me weep
I wouldn’t feel small as a flea
When the teacher calls on me
I wouldn’t be afraid to speak
My life would not be sad and bleak
I wouldn’t have been a quiet child

I could hate you

Had I never met you, my life would be so different

I wouldn’t know what’s right or wrong
I wouldn’t know that I am strong
I wouldn’t know I can break free
From my fear and misery
I wouldn’t heal myself with time
Lift my confidence as it climbs
I wouldn’t open up my heart
To see the fear I can outsmart
I wouldn’t now be speaking here,
Had I not overcome my fear
I wouldn’t have been a quiet child

I could thank you
