Haiku: Her

Two dogs bark outside—

Her skin kissed by the sun and

Her hair dark like night

Television blares—

I feel her skin under my

Stiffened fingertips

The telephone rings

She moves like a leaf swaying

With the autumn breeze

Laughter fills the room

A wave of calmness brings me

Ease as I kiss her

Familiar footsteps

The rhythm is quick and soft

Mickey spilled his juice

Kids playing downstairs—

A splash of sweet nectar fades

From my yearning lips

A/C soft humming,

She leans towards me as I

Seek to steal her kiss

My head on her chest

Her heart beats with every breath

My lungs mimic her

The music thumping—

The aroma of Pantene

Lingers in the air

Alarm rings: I’m up!

French Lavender and Honey

Lotion remains here
