Hair

Rapunzel Rapunzel,

Let down your hair

With a tight hold

She grips her golden locks

Yanking

Again and Again

Grasping a shard

Of broken mirror

Sawing mercilessly

To free herself.

Rapunzel Rapunzel,

Let down your hair

The glass

Is not sharp enough

To free her

From endless tangles

Her hands bloodied,

She searches for a way to freedom

Tripping over every stray hair.

Rapunzel Rapunzel,

Let down your hair

She walks to the window

Of her rickety tower prison

But will let down more

Than just her hair.
