Haiti, Beloved Country
They prone that they love you
But they do not
They claim that they adore you
But they do not
They betray, hate and stab you
The corrupt politicians are strange and evil
They shoot you everywhere even in the back
They are white, brown, purple and black
They fake everything about you; they are cruel
Yet they want you to succeed in this Hell.
They talk about you, Haiti, all the time
But they do not love you
They sing about you, and for you all the time
Yet, they lie about you too
Haiti, you have only enemies and ‘friends’
Who act like they want to hold your hands
Yet, they abhor you and steal from you
They rob whenever the opportunity comes
In lieu of candies they put tiny lethal bombs
Under your tongue. They hate, loot and stab you
Haiti, Haiti they do not care about you
They are only concerned about their families
And their elongated pockets. They hate you
They don’t give a darn or a dawn about you
Haiti is an impoverished and over-exploited
Oasis. She is not a hole. She’s underappreciated
Her matricidal children, morons, fools and imbeciles
Forget that Haiti was once the ‘Pearl of the Antilles”.

Dense accumulation of accusations, betrayals, and political critique packed throughout.
Overwhelmingly negative: betrayal, hate, corruption, exploitation dominate with minimal redemption.
Forceful, accusatory voice with repeated hammer-blows of condemnation and anger.
Approximately 40+ lines; falls in 31-60 range.
Some metaphor (oasis, Pearl of Antilles) and personification (Haiti as feminine); mostly declarative.
Lyric voice addressing Haiti directly, shifting to dramatic critique of unnamed enemies.
