Half-Life

Honesty is the best over-read policy

Sometimes love is only determined by anatomy, not philosophy

I try and see the good in all the lies and bigotry

Find someone to embody my ideals and attempt a synergy

All i end up getting are losses and no victory

Could be all good but one bad action can plant the seed

Says he wants me whole but tears away every part of me

When not satisfied he'll go on to new discovery

Beggars and borrowers just looking for something free

Guess i'm the last one to believe in monogamy.

They used to tell me when things go bad you put it in history

But only adding to the past doesn't seem that fair to me

They insist you have to break and bruise to understand the things to be

And let go of the pain even when there's no apology.

Well insist some more please

Tell there's a silver lining, please

must be no one can see

the heartache inside of me.

Troubled when tensions ride over the line of passion

I gamble in the throws of vengeance and lies just to match him

Build a mountain on this ant hill and proceed to question every action

Make sure i keep ahead, hold my seat and keep the belt fastened

And let go of the wheel because love is just a fruitless distraction

When i've hit my threshold and you watch me crash in satisfaction

It's only you that will wonder why hatred is my only fair reaction

All the shit i went through and you ask why i have no attraction.

They used to tell me when things go bad you put it in history

But only adding to the past doesn't seem that fair to me

They insist you have to break and bruise to understand the things to be

And let go of the pain even when there's no apology.

Well insist some more please

Tell there's a silver lining, please

sick of living with these

hopes that are never meant to be.
