Halloween Night Gone Wrong

You know those dreams Where you’re being chased And you want to run But you can’t move you feet. Well that happened to me Except it wasn’t a dream “it was Halloween night, and I had crept away, out of my parents sight. I walked along the edge of the woods, looking into the darkness, it didn’t look so good Clouds were rolling in and I knew it was going to rain I thought I should go back but kept walking anyways I heard something rustle around in the leaves I turned to investigate But concluded it was nothing. By this time it had started to thunder and lightning Some would get scared but I didn’t find it frightening. People would call me a naïve little girl but I thought I could handle anything in this world I thought I would be fine all out on my own But it turns out I wasn’t alone. I got this weird feeling that I was being watched So i kept walking faster until I was in a brisk jog. Jogging along the side of the road I heard some noises that I hadn’t before Too scared to look back I found myself running And that’s when I heard the foot steps behind me My heart racing wild, my stomach in my throat I was to consumed with fear And stumbled over a can of beer I fell to the ground And turned around to see This horrible creature Gaining distance on me. It was on all fours And had piercing red eyes. I couldn’t move no matter how hard I tried. I was like a deer caught in headlights. Now, the beast was upon me And grabbed me by the neck Struggling for air, I didn’t hold back I twisted and turned but couldn’t get free Starting to lose consciousness I wondered why I didn’t escape before he got to me.” The next thing I remember Is waking up in a hospital bed. I was found on the side of the road in a pool of blood, barely hanging on to life. Now, I don’t go out on Halloween night.
