Hand in Hand

We stand, hand in hand
Fighting the odds placed upon this land
The separation, segregation, isolation
Of men who are seeking equalization.
You say go to the back,
We say no.
You say drink from a different fountain,
We say no.
You say we do not have the same rights,
And we ask WHY.
Why treat us as something below you,
Why treat us as objects of your disgust,
Why treat us as if we don’t deserve respect.
And those who stand with us,
Who are different then us.
They are willing to fight with us,
To fight for us,
To fight for righteousness.
We stand hand and hand,
Against the opposition of this land.
