The Handmaiden

Once Upon a Time...

It started so long ago, but now

I'm all who knows,

withered and gray.

But when my eyes were young,

they saw the girl

you know call

Rapunzel.

I saw her walk to the doors with the lost prince,

who said he wandered

blindly

until he found his love.

Their clothes in tatters

faces dirty and

tear stained.

Yet, they smiled.

She shone under the sun

as I brushed that golden-spun hair.

As her handmaiden, I learned it all.

Her heart hated

Dame Gothel for so long,

But finding her prince

washed it all away.

Though she never did aquire the taste for

rampion.
