Hands Up

Them winter nights I had to go cold

From them bus rides on my way home

So gone in this world

Stress in my mind It hurts so much inside

Ran away from my problems

That only needed a simple solve in em

Pushed away my girl

now only lord knows who she doing up in this world

Sometimes I asked why me?

But God comes back around and says why not you?

It gets so hard sometimes to where I'm fightin with myself

Pressure on gettin my family outta here

And rise to all types of wealth

I look up to the sky and asked myself what's really in this world for you and I?

We're seen as what they expect out of us right?

All of us are ignorant kill each other and are in a gang right?

We're not with the U-N-I-T-Y

Once we start sitting down for the flag

They call us monkeys and say we should just leave

Where can we go?

When racism is all that we see

I'm tired of this police brutality

I know we're human we all have our bad days

But saying sorry for ended those men's life doesn't make up for it

How can I raise my kids in this world knowing if you have a toy you might, no actually will get shot

I'd be damn if my kids got a criminal record and steady running from the cops

Funny thing is the kkk had a clan meeting

All of a sudden there's a hung young black man

You say suicide I say genocide

White people do you really see this as right

Because if you know what's going on and not doing nothing about it

You just as low as those k’s I put a couple lines ago

Don't get me wrong id take your white privilege anyday

I could drive around freely and say what I want to say

Also I can trust the cops anyday

But until I get the same peace

There won't be peace on these streets

Whether there's raids going or peaceful strikes

Our voice will be heard no matter how big of the fight

Who's next for the hashtag?

See the pains in these people's eyes

Mexicans, blacks, Asians whatever you decide

Black lives matter

We're not saying you don't

We saying we matter too

And the way you been treating us in this world is dangerously disgraceful

This is for  Alton Sterling, Eric Garner, Gregory Gunn, Samuel Dubose, Oscar Grant, Tamir Rice, John Crawford, India Beaty, Renisha Mcbride, Walter Scott, Philando Castile, Sandra Bland, Mario Woods, Laquan McDonald, RaMarley Graham, Akai Gurley, Sean Bell, Amadou Diallo, Freddie Gray, Jamar Clark, and Rekia Boyd and so many more

These are my subtitles

Like in movies you don't acknowledge them

So I have my hands up for these people

And carry faith wishing we can one day be equal
