Hands of Fate
Hours from now you’ll be long gone,
And I’ll be stuck here just trying to hold on.
All the memories we’ve shared hanging from my lamp,
All the letters written that lack a single stamp.
You’ve been my joy and inspiration,
My constant source of motivation.
I’ve become better since the day we met,
And you’ve become more beautiful with every sunset.
I can’t imagine a night without you by my side,
I just want to hold you close with my arms opened wide.
The thought of you leaving gives me great fear,
I don’t want to know what it’s like not having you near.
I’ll miss the way you looked at me,
And I’ll forget the fact I can no longer say we.
I’ll walk around without any purpose at all,
And late at night I’ll be waiting for your call.
I’ll recall the moments when we used to kiss,
And how those little moments gave me true peace and bliss.
There’s no one on this Earth that I’d rather love,
You’re truly blessing, a gift, sent from up above.
I’ll think of you and how I used to hold your hand,
Before you left and my heart had to land.
Every memory we’ve shared I hold near to my heart,
Like all the times we touched before we had to part.
Those three words were never easy to say,
But the more I fell for you, the more it seemed okay.
So when I utter those words to you,
Know that from the bottom of my heart, it’s true.
You’re the sweetest love I’ve tasted,
Every second with you gone is wasted.
I’ll hold onto the sound of your lovely voice,
And how loving you is a beautiful choice.
You’ve given me love and hope,
A way for me to cope.
As time goes by you’re more of who I’ve become,
And I’ll never forget the soft way you used to hum.
I pray that I may see you soon,
And hold you close under the moon.
That we may share another night so late,
And tempt the stubborn hands of fate.
