Handsome and the Beast
A young princess resided in a castle in France
She was pompous, narcissistic and arrogant.
The princess was selfish and only cared about herself
But her life changed forever with a visit from a stranger.
One rainy night, an old man came upon her castle in search of food and shelter
The princess was horrified by the sight of his appearance and she rejected him.
She was cruel and pelted rocks at the old pauper
With one touch to her forearm, a spell was created on the princess.
The old man gave her a rose and cursed the princess to live the life of a beast forever
He told her “If you do not receive a kiss from your true love before the rose petals wilts, you will die.”
Instantly she transformed into a creature with grotesque features and tried to apologize
But it was too late, the princess realized she was ultimately doomed to a cloistered existence.
Years later on a chilly autumn day, a village woman was walking near the princess’s castle
The beastly princess noticed the woman and captured her as a hostage.
The woman’s son began to search for his mother who was missing for days
The young man knocked on all the villager’s doors and finally came across the castle one evening.
The woman’s son walked onto the steps of the castle and was forced into the beastly princess’s home
The young man locked eyes with his mother who was tied up and ran to her with open arms.
The princess said "I would release your mother if you take her place and stay here with me"
The handsome man reluctantly agreed and stayed in the castle while his mother was released.
The days and nights passed slowly and the rose began to wilt, petal by petal
The princess and the handsome man began to develop a relationship over time.
The young man caused a modification in the beast’s shallow character and she was kind-hearted
The princess wanted companionship, but the man loved his mother.
As months passed, the handsome man asked to visit his mother in the village
The princess hesitated at first, but allowed him to leave and return to his home.
The man returned to the village and the villagers interrogated him about living with a beast
The people in the town wanted to kill the beastly princess.
The man ran back to the castle to save the beast, but she was already injured by the villagers
The princess was dying on the castle steps, he held her in his arms and gave her a soft kiss.
As the last two rose petals fell off the stem, the beastly princess died
The curse was never broken, the handsome man only cared for her as a friend!
