Hang in There

Wake up, breathe air, carry out your day. Meander a monotonous pathway and call it life. Everything is fine. You follow your road while I search for mine. But please, dear friend, don’t forget That you are delicate as you walk. Yes you need feet, but you also need wings. For what good is a voice unless it sings? Oh yes, you are frail. You need an anchor and a sail To hold you steady, yet let you soar. Stability and hope that there is more Than what lies before you. Life tears you apart, beats you down, rubs you raw. To make it you must cling to music, to joy, to art. Let your passion determine your law And govern your life from the core of your heart. We all need some source of strength To build, to learn, to grow. No existence can be sustained Without that which gives it hope. So sing, dance, laugh, And never give up. Never let go. Hang in there.
