Hanging Over Your Shoulder

Unmedicated and asphyxiated
what a woe to be riddiculed for who you are
cracks forming in the mind
and the demon clawing at your back

Death beckons at your window
the crows call, time to go
make a little dance out of it
the struggle you have to suffer

Bite your lip and force a smile
but try not to make it bleed
again

That hand on your shoulder is your only friend
even if no one else can see it
playing in Wonderland
turns into Hell
and the demons drag you deeper again
but as far as everyone else is concerned
you're okay because they don't know

the nightmares
