Hansel and Gretel

Mother figure tainted

Bags thrown out the door

Father complacent

His voice silent to hers

Her manic rage filled

The room,

The house,

The woods

Left in the woods

Children with no defense

Breadcrumbs to local slums

Things got kinda tense

Hansel told gretel

“We will find our way”

But they never did find it

The two stepped further into the woods

Hansel met mary-jane

Traded her for snow white

Gretel gained weight

Lost it

Gained control instead

The pair of orphans stumbled

Corner to corner

Door to door

Only one door opened

Taken in by the salvia

Her voice was inviting

Fed them a good meal

Tucked them into their addiction

Head in the clouds

Heaven in sight

The pair ignored the signs

And didn’t put up a fight

Head in an oven

Ritual complete

The pair became a statistic

Just two junkie deadbeats
