Happenings
I'm sitting on a 2001 Honda with a guy I've only known for two months. It's 2:46am, my phone's on silent, and I'm pretty sure my parents will kill me when I get home. We're on top of the hills, overlooking the entire town. Lights are on, noises are heard. I'm sitting here thinking, somewhere in this town there's that one party everyone is at. There's someone having their first beer. There's someone giving birth to their first child. There's someone praying in a hospital for a loved one. There's someone getting beaten in the streets because they're fighting for something they believe in. There's a couple fighting because the husband is cheating on his wife. There's a student rushing to get their homework done in time. There's a man working at a bar who doesn't even drink alcohol. There's a cocaine addict who's trying to get their fix. Then, there's me and this guy sitting at the top of the hill. It's quiet and dark where we are, but we both know these things are happening.
