happier

coming home

from your second therapy session

is nice

but what's nicer

is getting a lollipop

(a sucker)

bright red

reminding you of happier times

and you feel good about yourself

for the first time in a while

walking down the street

the weather is balmy and breezy

clouds sprinkle a blue sky

this confection reminds you of childhood

as you savor its fruity sweetness

you haven't got a care in the world

so let these sirens wail

let these people hustle & bustle

to places that won't matter in the end

because you are happier

you are
