Happiness
A word that can mean a lot
Something that they say you cannot buy
A thing to achieve we are taught
Often asked if we have it, we lie
A hug, a whisper, a touch
A kiss on the lips
can mean so much
unless it is all but a script
A friend or two with a smile on their face
may indeed be holding the key that controls your fate
and then they’ll leave with scars and walk away with grace
which leaves you with no loyal friends and a white slate
What truly is happiness
but a word and a feeling
the word itself creates sappiness
it is really unappealing
A lifetime of yearning
is useless
because happiness is not an earning
but rather it is a nuisance
