This Is Happiness

Feeling the warmth spread throughout your body,
and the peace that flows quick after,
the love that overwhelms your chest,
or the soft feel of grass grazing your head.

The way the sand fills the gaps between your toes,
and the sound of waves crashing to shore,
the gentle breeze cooling your hot skin,
or the soft glow of the sunset on the horizon.

A tender caress of your cheek,
and the silent look of affection,
the embrace of reassurance,
or the whisper of forgiveness,

this is happiness.

I'm from California. I love any form of writing but my favorite is poetry. I'm 15 years old. I get a lot of comments about being so young but I don't think your writing should be judged on what you look like, how old you are, etc. Instead it should be judged on the emotion that lives in the writing. I've only been writing poetry for about two years now. I started after my dad passed away and I've slowly improved since then, however, I still have much to improve on. That's a huge majority of why I'm on here. So, Please let me know any advice or suggestions you may have. Thank You.
