Happiness

We all grew up with the want to be something worthwhile

And our parents would just nod and let us dreams those classy dreams

Of Superheroes and Mermaids

I'm sure you have all come to realize that that's not reality nor can it be reality

And you've moved on to luxurious vacations and mountains of money

But you know what I've realized?

That the wishes I wish are wishes of happiness

Because vacations and money are nothing.

They may bring a smile for a day or two

But will you stay when things become a zoo?

I've come to know that material things will come...

Eventually...

I can feel it!

But for right now -

For this moment -

I want happiness

Because nothing concrete can make me happy

But the abstract can.
