Happiness is in the eye of the beholder

Happiness is in the eye of the beholder.

I listened to what you said.

I thought about the things you made me do.

I was alone and afraid.

At least that’s what you told me.

I thought that there was no one else but you.

I felt that you were there to help me.

But I was wrong.

You made me feel things.

You made it seem so hard.

The emptiness inside over whelmed me.

But I kept strong.

I hid you from others.

I kept you out of mind.

I thought you were gone.

But you were just waiting.

Waiting for me to come back into your arms.

And you brought me down.

At every moment I thought about you.

Just empty.

Nothing but tears could feel me up.

I cried out to you to leave.

But did you listen?

You are hiding.

And I’m hiding too.
