Happiness forever stolen

I wake up to a sunny day, joy and warmth fill my head

I dare to take a step, first things first, how 'bout some bread?

I smile to myself, they don't see the freedom I feel, words left unsaid

Was-maybe still am- broken, all my virtue was stolen, my heart pleads

Reminiscing about the future since the past doesn't tell much

Nostalgic at the idea of something a step up from the present, just a touch

Hoping for someone to hold, hug, love, maybe not as such

Wishing, for something more than the routine life I clutch

It's here! Oh no, wait, it's just another special package of disappointment.

Neatly wrapped to fool me, amuse me, and destroy me, with no fingers pointed

Yet each time I see it coming, the reflection of disappointment, I still have an anxiety so poignant

Angry, stressed, confused, invisible. None of these feelings can ever be scripted.
