Happiness Through Change

Location

Hawaii
United States

Though the world itself remains sunny,

Its brow is darkened by clouds called money.

If I could change just one thing,

Peace to the anxieties from money I would bring.

All evil's root is the love of money,

The axe with which to cut: forgotten.

I would give to man the key

To recover what was dearly boughten.

The unhappy movements of paper

Distract man from what is proper.

Many yearn for the return of gold,

And still forget the eternal goal.

If I could repair the wealth of nations,

Surely to man must return some cheer.

Debts must leave their somber stations,

And return to man the joyful year.

Should man once more adore his masterful Maker,

Money no more would be his joy's taker.

Dear God, grant us the wisdom key

To good stewardship of our soul's treasury.
