The Happy Accident

It was both a complete surprise,

And exactly what I would always do.

From a small mountain town,

How could I not play Frisbee?

        And yet.

Awkward flailing limbs

A complete lack of grace

No love for running

Nor the ability.

       AND YET.

The sight of the disc in the air,

Rushing across the ground to snag it,

A lighter heart in the game,

The satisfaction in the throw and the catch.

        And so,

Completely by accident,

I fell in love with a sport,

Entered a family, a community

And now I can never turn back

           And I don't want to
