a happy note

Love is an attempt

to make a happy note.

My fingers stumble on the keys

My lips resist to release the words

Even momentary elation is unfamiliar

as of late.

This requires trust in someone beyond myself.

Territory that once felt native,

is now foreign land.

My exhaustion is fading

I am finding my breath.
