Hard Love

My feelings are strong enough to
Kill a thousand thoughts

Our love is like an incurable flu

That I’ve caught

I get tired sometimes but

I never want it gone

You got me heart struck

Maybe even sprung

I’ve given other guys chance

But the competition is weak

We’ve been through a lot

You always find a way to make me happy

Your smile, your presence

Your laugh I yearn to hear

The way you hold me

The feeling I get when your lips touch mine

Takes away all my fear

Fear of loneliness, abandonment, and neglect

When my family doesn’t understand

All of my flaws

I know you can accept

You’re everything to me

Everything I dreamed and hoped for

Every time I see you

Hear your voice or name

All those other guys I dated

Continue to sit on the wall of shame

The stories I tell you always relate to us

We started with lust

We sometimes fight and fuss

Scream and cuss but we always end

With a three word phrase of love
