The Hardest Part of Goodbye - Goodbye Spicy

I have always known that I was going to have to grow up. I always knew that I was going to either watch people leave ,or do the leaving myself. Sometimes that's just the way it goes but I wasn't expecting this. It's like when a car comes at you at full speed, You experience a shortness of breath. Your heart can't beat fast because its already dropped to your stomach. You want to move but you can't get past the image in front of you. All of our memories flashing back at once. Reminding me that I had a place where I felt like belonged. I had a best friend… I had a sister. Going away for college is something that I know is exciting.  I know that I should say all the right things, “ I wish you the best. You're gonna do great! I'll miss you, but please be safe.” Even with all those thoughts all I could muster was “ Please don't go.” My brain was ready to let go, but my heart was not understanding why she had to go. The hardest part of goodbye is not only saying the words. Its being strong enough to feel the words.
