Hardships

Life has large mountains and long painful roads.

A path with happy dreams, but we don’t know.

A road we hope will give us lighter loads,

And we choose standing tall when we are low.

Why keep our heads held high when times get tough?

Why love the people but they don’t love back?

Why hope for better when we’ve had enough,

When a naïve child’s view of life turns black?

It’s easy ending the heart wrenching pain,

To stop the madness and mess called our life,

Because of the denial we’re insane,

And we can end the suff’ring with a knife.

But we endure to find a faithful friend,

Who will support and love until the end.
