Harm

This pain we feel in our chests

This need to be the best

The urge to run

The "need to have more fun"

Why do we need to be your idea of "successful"

When its just plain stressful

The need to be "pretty"

Who says that should translate to "blonde and skinny"

Dispite the pain in our chests we keep breathing

Keep trying to keep seeing

The good in our society

While we attempt to ignore the poverty

That we see every day

And there are so many ways

To show these people that what we do to each other is wrong

We should be building up, not tearing each other down

We should want to go the extra mile

To make someone smile

Instead of sitting on the couch

Complaining because "theyre a grouch"

When in reality

Theyre just trying to make you see

Sometimes out wake up needs to be violent

Instead of wkaing up in a bed of violets

And breathing in the fresh air, having that peacefulness

Because otherwise we just cause even more helplessness
