Harmony

The notes unfold on the page

Filling the lines and spaces in between

Like the gears of a fine watch

They mesh together

To create the beauty of music.

I study them to understand

And unlock the mysteries they hold

Their endless combinations

Extraordinary harmonies

Waiting to be played.

Will I one day discover their secret?

The one perfect arrangement

All the notes working together

Bringing beauty to the ears

And inspiration to the soul
