The Harp

In the middle of the living room

The harp

that is seen

but not played

You see

The harp

is useless

without its master

its puppeteer

its creater

The harp can't be without

anyone to play it

but when it does

overcome this one flaw

Beauty

How can somethin

beautiful

come from an object

that is so

so

imperfect

and

so needy

It is not fair

that the manipulated

the played

the cherished

are called beautiful

But the sofa isn't

Nor the chair

Nor the table

hand-crafted; oak

EMPTY

But they are used just the same

but they can't make beauty

How fair is that?

The most useful things in the roo

ban not bring a smile to their Master

But a harp can.

So what are the favored items

the useful,

or the meaningless yet pretty.
